Air Liquide’s business involves producing, storing and delivering industrial gases, hydrogen in particular. This hydrogen is stored, in most cases, in the form of gas under pressure. In some cases it is stored in liquid form, for example in aeronautics and specific industrial applications.
With regard to the main applications of fuel cells, hydrogen is processed into gas under a pressure of 200 bar either in the form of bottles (1.5 Nm3 to 8.5 Nm3) or, for larger storage, in frames containing several bottles.
The fuel cell is fed at low pressure (0.250 bar) by these stocks through a pressure down system.
